Golden Lamp Awards

Congratulations to the 2009 Golden Lamp Awards Winners!

The Golden Lamp Awards are one of educational publishing's longest-running and most prestigious traditions. This year, the four Golden Lamp categories are aligned with the DAAs:

    • Curriculum
    • Periodicals
    • Professional Development
    • Technology Innovations
      New this year

Judging
Unlike the DAAs, Golden Lamp entries are judged against the entire field of entries within each category. There are no subcategories or grade level dinstinctions in Golden Lamp competition, therefore the winners can truly say they are the best of the best in their respective category.

Finalists and Winners
Golden Lamp Finalists and Winners are announced in a press release when the judging process is completed in April. At this point, product and company names will be posted in the Awards section of the AEP website and receive special designation in the Online Product Gallery. Winners are announced at the AEP Awards Banquet & Gala in June in Washington, DC.

Golden Lamp Categories

* Indicates a new or revised category

Curriculum
An integrated and comprehensive kit for use in a school environment to teach or support a particular subject area. This may be a multimedia product. Curriculum Packages are considered instructional materials. You MUST submit teacher instructions in order to be judged. If the product comes in multiple packages, please clearly indicate what pieces make up your sample.

Periodicals
If you want to have your periodical judged based on its editorial, design, or on these elements combined with the mission of your publication, then this is the category for you.

Professional Development*
These are products directed at the education professional and contain information on classroom management, instructional techniques, and education theory and practice.

Technology Innovations*
Something in the technology field that is new or different that has been developed in order to aid the education field.
